The Société des Amis du musée de Cluny

Welcome in the medieval world !

Founded in 1992, the Société des Amis du Musée de Cluny was recognized as an association of general interest for cultural activities in 2020, enabling it to receive donations and bequests. It now has almost 800 members.

Whether they are simply curious about the art and history of the Middle Ages, knowledgeable amateurs or medievalists, they all share a strong attachment to the Museum’s rich collections and its exceptional buildings in the heart of the Latin Quarter – the best-preserved Gallo-Roman baths in France and the only medieval courtyard-garden mansion still visible in Paris.

The association supports the museum by helping to finance new acquisitions and restoration campaigns, and by contributing to its cultural program. It also promotes the history and heritage of the Middle Ages among its members through conferences, tours and trips.

Like the creation of a Young Friends group for members under 35, several partnerships testify to the attention paid by the Friends to younger generations.

The Société des Amis du musée de Cluny is a member of the FFSAM – Fédération Françaises des Sociétés d’Amis des Musées.
